The Group of Seven (G7) wealthy nations includes the U.S., Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan, along with the European Union. The only constant in life is change, the Greek philosopher Heraclitus famously said. When it comes to prices for goods and services online, sometimes the changes happen so fast it feels as though the ground is moving beneath you, whether you need a ride home and Uber fares double in a matter of minutes or the price for an airline ticket you’ve been eyeing for a much-needed vacation skyrockets overnight. These shifts come courtesy of a strategy known as dynamic pricing. Often shaped by algorithms that work behind the scenes, prices fluctuate to maximize the seller’s profits.Dynamic pricing is nothing new,…

(Image credit: Getty Images)Spring is in the air, but if you aren’t careful, it can drain your wallet. That’s particularly true for retirees on a fixed income who haven’t planned for the additional expenses that crop up as flowers bloom and the weather gets warmer.”Spring often brings a cluster of expenses. These expenses can surprise and affect almost everyone to some degree, but retirees may feel it more because of their fixed income,” says Tiana Patillo, financial advisor manager at Vanguard. “That makes planning even more important, because unanticipated seasonal costs may require drawing more heavily from savings or investment…
Oil prices increased on 7 April amid an approaching US deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, with US President Donald Trump warning of potential attacks on Iranian infrastructure if the deadline is not complied with. By 07:00 GMT, Brent crude futures had increased by $1.44, reaching $111.21 per barrel (bbl), a rise of 1.3%, reported Reuters.
