In this edition of Coming Soon–a series from Redfin News that explores new listings that house hunters can find early only on Redfin.com and Compass.com–we’re exploring five different listings in the Chicago metro area.

About 30 minutes from downtown Chicago sits an expansive five-bedroom, two-bathroom home that combines the city’s timeless architecture with updated interiors and flexible living space. Set on a quiet residential block, the brick English-tudor style home offers the balance many buyers seek: classic curb appeal, generous square footage, and easy access to both neighborhood amenities and downtown connections.

“It’s an amazing investment opportunity in a neighborhood where home values are rising quickly. It’s a beautiful home that’s set up as a multi-unit single-family home. If you’re looking for multigenerational living or if you’re an investor, this is a great option,” said Redfin principal agent Marina Collazo, who is listing the home.

Collazo added that the house has an element of surprise: If you look at the front of the house, you don’t expect what you get inside. The sellers completed an addition to the home, which provides extra unexpected living space.

    Coming Soon: 6157 N Kenmore Ave Unit 3N: $650,000

This three-bedroom, two-bathroom condo blends sleek design with everyday functionality in one of Chicago’s walkable lakefront neighborhoods. The 1,450-square-foot home features an open-concept layout, oversized windows that bring in abundant natural light and views of Lake Michigan.

“It’s priced well below other three-bedroom condos because it’s not brand new construction. You have three outdoor spaces and it’s a block away from the lake, what more could you ask for?,” said Redfin principal agent Ken Snedegar, who is listing the home. “You get so much natural light and the apartment’s high-end finishes feel modern.”

Originally built in 2016 as part of a boutique development, the condo was designed with entertainment in mind. It features  a private rooftop deck, a covered private front terrace and a large east facing common roof-deck.

The condo is situated just blocked from public transportation, and offers quick access to local beaches, parks, cafes and restaurants.

Coming Soon: 3428 N Kilbourn Ave: $1.1 million

Across from the tree-lined green space of Kilbourn Park on the northwest side of Chicago, a 2024-constructed property is bringing modern luxury without having to leave the city.

The four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath residence blends sleek finishes with family-friendly functionality. The home spans roughly 3,100 square feet and pairs open-concept living with thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor spaces. From the moment you enter, the home feels bright, airy, and intentionally designed for entertaining.

“The lighting makes this property so special. You’re getting beautiful east and west exposure, and you get natural light almost all day,” said Redfin principal agent Leopoldo Gutierrez, who is listing the home.

The house also has a fenced-in backyard with an attached gas line for grilling. The garage includes an EV charging station.

“You’re getting a lot of house for its location, and you’re getting a lot of value because the home is newly built . And as a bonus, you’ll wake up every single day looking at the park,” Gutierrez said.

Bonus: Two Chicago Listings That Just Went Live

    Just Listed: 1636 N. Well St. #1709: $320,000

Perched high above Wells Street in the sought-after Americana Towers, this updated one-bedroom, one-bathroom condo pairs classic city living with sweeping skyline, park, and lake views. The east-facing residence offers a front-row seat to some of Chicago’s most iconic scenery—all from the comfort of a private covered balcony.

“It’s got breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline, which is hard to come by,” said Redfin senior agent David Betancourt, who is listing the home. “My favorite part of showing this listing has to be the balcony and the view of the lake.”

Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the open-concept living and dining area with natural light, while new flooring gives the space a fresh, contemporary feel. The updated kitchen features custom cabinetry, It also has Corian countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a convection oven designed for easy entertaining.

The bedroom layout maximizes both comfort and storage. Recent improvements include custom closet doors, upgraded window shades, and a refreshed bathroom vanity.

Beyond the unit itself, Americana Towers delivers the kind of amenities that make city living especially convenient. Residents enjoy access to a heated outdoor pool and sundeck, fitness center, sauna, bike storage, 24-hour door staff, on-site maintenance, and attached garage parking options.

“It’s an affordable way to get into the city with a great location–and you get a full amenity building to top it off,” Betancourt said.

    Just Listed: 6551 N Maplewood Ave: $795,000

About a 25-minute drive north, a Chicago single-family home. The five-bedroom, two-bathroom house offers generous living space, a large lot, and the kind of neighborhood charm that continues to draw buyers to the city’s Far North Side.

Originally built in 1920, the home spans approximately 2,100 square feet and sits on a nearly 4,700-square-foot lot. Its traditional masonry exterior and one-and-a-half-story layout reflect the enduring architectural style found throughout West Ridge.

“It’s been in the same family for over 30 years. They’ve taken great care of it, and upgraded and updated over the years. It’s a well-loved home on a nice tree-lined street,” said Redfin principal agent Nancy Huetteman, who is listing the home.

Inside, the home features a full unfinished basement that offers additional storage and expansion potential. Detached garage parking and a sizable backyard add to the property’s practicality—especially for buyers searching for more outdoor space within city limits.

Residents enjoy easy access to neighborhood parks, local restaurants, shopping corridors along Devon Avenue, and nearby public transit connections that make commuting into downtown Chicago convenient.
