    U.S. rig count increased by 7, is at 558

    This week’s Baker Hughes Rig Count shows that the U.S. increased by 7 last week, resulting in a total count of 558 rigs. Canada increased by 14 over last week, resulting in a total Canadian count of 138 rigs.

    Breakdown by region

    Of the regions tracked by Baker Hughes, the Cana Woodford, Eagle Ford and Permian regions experienced an increase this week.

    Meanwhile, 2 regions experienced a decrease this week:

    • The Barnett is down 1, at 0.
    • The Haynesville is down 1, at 55.

    All other regions saw no net change in the active rig count.
