The death of software has been greatly exaggerated. “If AI is going to kill a business, the signs would already be there,” D.A. Davidson analyst Gil Luria said in a research note, observing the industry is now in its third year of the AI shift. The biggest impact on the software industry thus far has been “narrative and scared customers unwilling to commit,” he added. The latter may be a factor that’s starting to change, as companies come to realize “neither they nor their software vendors have been run over” by AI. As this “scared” money returns to the market,…
futures continue to demonstrate classic VC PMI mean-reversion behavior within a well-defined price and time structure. After peaking near 4512, price rotated lower into the BUY-1 Daily zone at 4421, briefly probing toward BUY-2 Daily at 4381, before stabilizing and reverting back toward the VC PMI Daily Mean at 4455. This reaction confirms the probabilistic framework of the VC PMI model, where price extremes statistically favor reversion back toward the mean before any sustained trend continuation. From a time-cycle perspective, the recent high aligns with a completed short-term cycle crest, followed by a corrective phase into mid-week. This downswing respected…
Selling a business in New York can be a huge win, but it’s not a “list it and pray” state. Buyers (especially in NYC and the surrounding metro) tend to be thorough, legal-heavy, and deadline-driven. Upstate deals can move faster, but financing, seasonality, and the buyer pool look very different depending on the industry and county. Want a realistic sale price range for your New York business? EarnedExits helps owners estimate valuation and prep for a cleaner, buyer-friendly exit. It’s especially useful in NY where diligence is intense and small issues can turn into big retrades. Despite lower monthly mortgage payments, a holiday hangover is muting homebuying demand. The median U.S. monthly housing payment fell to $2,365 during the four weeks ending January 4, down 4.7% from a year earlier and the lowest level since the start of 2024. Monthly payments fell largely because the weekly average mortgage rate dropped to 6.15% last week, the lowest level in over a year and down from roughly 7% at the beginning of 2025. Rates are declining because the labor market and overall economy are showing signs of weakness; we will know more about how 2026 is shaping up…

(Oil Price) – Oil prices rose early on Friday as protests in Iran continued to escalate, unnerving market participants that one of the biggest oil producers in the Middle East could see supply threatened. The U.S. benchmark crude futures, WTI, were up by 0.74% to trade at $58.16 per barrel, while the international benchmark, Brent, was up above the $62 per barrel mark, at $62.42, up by 0.71%. (Image credit: Getty Images)The tax landscape shifted dramatically when Congress passed, and the president signed, what they referred to as the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB).The bill was packed with plenty of changes, perhaps the most important being that it kept tax rates from going up at the end of this year. If the bill hadn’t passed, we would have reverted to the tax rates that existed before the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, and taxes would have increased as of January 1.Of course, although the OBBB describes these tax rates as now permanent, we know that in…

Here is a guide to a workaround. By David Enna, Tipswatch.com It’s a new year and I am sure a lot of investors in Series I and EE Savings Bonds are using TreasuryDirect’s Savings Bond Calculator to determine year-end values for their investments. This year, though, there is a problem. Using the calculator involves clicking on an .html file stored on your computer, which opens a summary of your investment values. To update those values, the user clicks on the “Return to Savings Bond Calculator” link to export the values into the calculator. No login to TreasuryDirect is necessary. Here…
