A historic early example of Organic Modern architecture that was conceived in 1935 by the late master craftsman Walter J. Hall has just hit the market in Pennsylvania for $2.75 million. Hall—the builder who brought Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater to life—and his wife, Beda, dreamed up the idyllic six-bedroom mountainside retreat as the perfect place to raise their family and operate a roadside restaurant. Tragically, however, Beda died as they were breaking ground on the project, which was completed one year before Fallingwater was finished, and never got the chance to see their vision brought to life. However, Hall continued…
Question: My wife and I are both 68 and have always dreamed of living in Florida near the coast. We finally did it when we retired about a year-and-a-half ago. We sold our house in Albany, New York, and headed for Boca Raton, Florida.Besides the coastal life, we were drawn to Florida because there is no state income tax. I have a large 401(k) balance and don’t want to worry about paying taxes on withdrawals. We spent $1.5 million on a two-bedroom condo overlooking the ocean, which is a three-minute walk to the beach. It was paradise, until it wasn’t. After…

Oil is trading on one thing and one thing only: the Strait of Hormuz. sits near $95 and WTI near $91 on June 2, after popped 5% on June 1 — surging more than 7% intraday — when Iran threatened to fully close the strait, then gave some of it back as Trump talked up a deal. That’s the entire market in a sentence. Every Hormuz-closure threat spikes crude, every de-escalation signal sinks it, and the price is whipsawing between a war premium and a reopening discount that nobody can handicap. Here’s the thesis: the structural setup under oil is…

(Oil Price) – The Middle East crisis and the still closed Strait of Hormuz have created a “super-squeeze” in oil markets, which could lead to sharp price spikes, analysts at HSBC say. Prices have rallied in recent months not because of some “super-cycle” but because of the massive supply disruption and an actual squeeze in physical supply, the UK-based bank said in a note carried by Bloomberg. “The longer the strait is closed, the more inventories are run down, the more likely it is that we reach ‘tipping points’ in the markets for some commodities,” HSBC’s analysts said in a report dated…
“Superman” star Nicholas Hoult has finally offloaded his longtime Los Angeles abode after the midcentury modern dwelling spent more than a year on the market. But it is not all good news for the 36-year-old Brit, who was forced to take a rather hefty loss on the sale of the Hollywood Hills home, which he purchased for $2.33 million in 2018, according to property records, seven years before putting it back on the market for the much higher price of $2.95 million. After listing the home in February 2025, Hoult—who is next due to appear in the upcoming comedy action…
