Looking to buy your first home but afraid you can’t afford it? If you’re willing to give up space in favor of affordability, a tiny house could be yours for just $10,000 on Amazon.

But before you move in, you may need to give up some of your possessions. Tiny houses typically range from 200 to 400 square feet—with some as small as 60 square feet.

    Key Takeaways

    • For some, tiny homes offer an affordable alternative to traditional homeownership.
    • Amazon is selling tiny houses for just under $10,000 on its website.
    • These may be small, but they include full amenities, including a bathroom and kitchen.
    • A typical tiny house is 400 square feet or smaller, so only minimalists need apply.

    Tiny Houses From Amazon

Amazon is selling tiny houses online with plenty of accommodations packed into each tiny house.

For example, you can buy a modular prefabricated mobile house with two bedrooms and one full bathroom for $9,330. A modular prefabricated home is built in a factory and is almost entirely assembled before it’s brought over to the home’s location. Once it arrives at the location, it is completely assembled.

    Warning

Unlike traditional homes, a tiny house is unlikely to appreciate in value.

Is a Tiny House Right for You?

The price of a tiny house is appealing to budget-conscious homebuyers, especially since it includes the amenities of a full bathroom and kitchen. Tiny houses may appeal to singles or couples looking to own their first home. It might also be a solid choice for people seeking a vacation home or those wanting to go off-the-grid.

Still, these houses are extremely small, and with such little space, it may not be the best choice for those with lot of furniture and possessions. It may also be too small to meet the needs of a growing family.

So if you think you’ll need more than 400 square feet of living space, saving money for a traditional house may be a better way to go.

    The Bottom Line

A tiny house with full amenities is an attractive deal for some prospective homeowners. With a price under $10,000 on Amazon, these miniature dwellings may appeal to young people who are tired of renting. And for those who feel fine in living spaces that are 400 square feet and smaller, a tiny house could make a good second home or vacation home.

But for growing families and people with a lot of possessions, a tiny house may a little too little to fit their needs.
