How did we choose these deals?

I found over 30 deals in my initial research, and wanted to include them, but decided to keep things short. While considering the products on this list, I took into account the device’s popularity, quality, and discount amount. From there, I whittled things down to the 18 entries you see above.

Should I buy a MacBook, Windows laptop, or Chromebook?

It ultimatley depends on what you want as a user and what you’re looking for. There isn’t a hardset answer to this question. Chromebooks are often the cheapest laptops that you’ll find online, making them perfect for casual use, students, and businesspeople. MacBooks are more luxury devices, and are typically more expensive. Even MacBook Air models will run you several hundreds of dollars, but you are buying access to the Apple ecosystem.

Windows laptops are all over the place. On end of the spectrum, you have mid-range computers that are perfect for the office to super powerful gaming rigs like the Razer Blade 18. I am a fan of Windows as it provides the most customization options out of the three systems mentioned so far.

    When will these deals expire?

These pre-Labor Day deals can expire at anytime. It’s entirely possible that by the time Labor Day rolls around, many of these discount will be gone and new ones will take their place. It’s also possible that this list will be completly static and not change one bit. Either way, I highly encourage you to take advantage of these discounts they go away.

Keep in mind that deals are subject to sell out or expire at any time, though ZDNET remains committed to finding, sharing, and updating the best product deals for you to score the best savings. Our team of experts regularly checks in on the deals we share to ensure they are still live and obtainable. We’re sorry if you’ve missed out on a deal, but don’t fret — we’re constantly finding new chances to save and sharing them with you at ZDNET.com.
