Music producer Jack Antonoff and actress Margaret Qualley have reportedly called it quits on their “rocky” three-year marriage—and insiders are now alleging that the rift in their relationship began with a struggle to balance their demanding careers with their lives at home.

Antonoff, 42, who is perhaps best known for his work with Taylor Swift, and Qualley, 31, who is the daughter of Hollywood star Andie MacDowell, first met in 2021 and tied the knot two years later in a very private ceremony held in his home state of New Jersey.

In recent weeks, their marriage has been the subject of furious speculation that was only further fueled when Antonoff attended Swift’s July 3 wedding to Travis Kelce without his wife.

Now, sources have claimed to People magazine that the couple’s relationship has been on the rocks for quite some time, with one noting that their packed schedules have gotten in the way of their spending enough time together as husband and wife at their Long Beach Island, NJ, home.

“They argue a lot, and between her career and him constantly being on the road or working late in the studio, it’s been difficult,” the source said.

However, another insider claimed this is just a bump in the road, insisting that the couple is still “figuring things out.” A third pushed back on rumors of a split altogether, describing this rocky patch as nothing more than a “process” that they are working through.

“They love each other deeply and are very sweet to each other. They are going through this process with nothing but kindness and unity. The rumors swirling around out there about them just aren’t true,” the source said.

Neither Antonoff nor Qualley has publicly addressed the speculation surrounding their marriage.

Still, they have both been incredibly busy of late.

The musician and producer is currently on tour with his band, Bleachers, while his actress wife is in pre-production on the upcoming horror film “Possession.”

Antonoff’s “Bleachers Forever” tour even got dragged into the split rumors earlier this year, when it was revealed that Qualley had deleted a series of wedding photos she posted to Instagram in March in honor of Bleachers’ new single, “Dirty Wedding Dress.”

The hit was inspired by the couple’s wedding and features lyrics about their August 2023 nuptials, which took place not far from their home.

“The dirty wedding dress is a promise/ I knew it that night at the shore/ And I knew that night on the rooftop/ I knew that she was from before/ So we got married that August/ And the neighbors all lost their minds/ We had to board up all the windows and shoot out the drones/ We took that sadness right from Saturday night, oh,” Antonoff sings in the song.

In April, Antonoff gushed about their romance during an interview on “The Howard Stern Show,” revealing he knew he and Qualley would end up at the altar the “second” he met her during a party.

“I saw her and it was like a f—ing Hallmark movie that doesn’t seem believable. When I met her, I started imagining things that I’d never even imagined, like marriage,” he said.

Antonoff and Qualley are understood to have been largely based at his Long Beach Island home for the majority of their marriage. Records show that the producer purchased the four-bedroom, five-bathroom waterfront dwelling for $1.85 million in 2020, a few months before he met his wife.

It was also reported in August 2025 that Antonoff was planning to turn a former surf shop in the area into a private recording studio, with local outlet the Asbury Park Press noting that he had purchased the property for $1.2 million and was attempting to gain planning permission for the project.

Beyond their Long Beach Island retreat, the couple also own an apartment in Brooklyn Heights, NY, which Antonoff purchased in 2019, when he was in a relationship with actress Lena Dunham. When he and Dunham split, the musician was said to have bought her out of her share in the property.

Antonoff is also understood to have a home in Los Angeles.
