    • Software stocks have been decimated in recent weeks amid fears surrounding AI.
    • The rapid decline in valuations has created opportunities that need to be explored urgently.
    • How to find software stocks that could see an explosive rebound?

Software stocks have come under pressure in recent weeks. Many investors worry that new AI models and tools could replace parts of existing software services.

AI can change many industries, and some believe software companies face the biggest risk.

But this view misses an important point. Most software companies have already added AI features to their products and plan to expand them further.

Last week, JPMorgan Chase said in a note that the most extreme fears about AI disrupting the industry are unlikely to happen.

The bank said enterprise software is deeply built into how companies operate. It added that recent trends show AI is more likely to support existing software workflows in the near term rather than replace them.

JPMorgan also noted that Wall Street forecasts for the software sector remain strong, even though investor sentiment has turned negative. Analysts expect revenue growth of more than 16% this year, along with improving margins.

In addition, most software companies that reported fourth-quarter results beat expectations.

In simple terms, the recent drop in software stocks may offer a good buying opportunity.

With that in mind, we looked for US software companies that have fallen sharply in recent weeks, now trade at attractive valuations, and still have strong support from analysts.

8 Oversold Software Stocks Primed for a Strong Comeback

To do this, we turned to the Investing.com screener and ran the following search:

    • Market capitalization greater than $1 billion
    • Software and IT services industry
    • Down more than 25% over one month
    • Upside potential of more than 30% according to analysts
    • Upside potential of more than 30% according to InvestingPro Fair Value
    • InvestingPro Health Score above 2.5/5

Remember that InvestingPro Fair Value calculates a smart average of several recognized valuation models for each stock. The Health Score summarizes several key financial metrics to assess the financial strength of companies.

This research has enabled us to identify eight opportunities:

More specifically, these software stocks have dropped between 28.4% and 45.5% over the past month. Based on Fair Value estimates, they now trade at discounts ranging from 32% to 61.8%. Analysts see upside potential of roughly 42.7% to 93.7%.

There are also several other ways to identify attractive stocks right now. For example, investors can use preconfigured stock screens that apply a set of criteria with a single click.

These screens cover themes such as value, growth, quality, and defensive strategies, helping investors with different goals find stocks that match their approach.
