As options trading continues to accelerate across global markets, firms need market data solutions that deliver speed, accuracy and efficiency without overwhelming their infrastructure. Cboe Options Lite meets that need by offering a cost-effective, low-bandwidth, consolidated U.S. options feed that provides only what you need and nothing more.

Purpose-built for modern trading environments, Cboe Options Lite combines cloud scalability, real-time market coverage and significant cost savings, making it an ideal solution for brokerages, trading firms, fintech platforms and market-data distributors worldwide.

A Leaner, Smarter Approach to OPRA Data

Traditional U.S. options data distribution is notoriously resource‑intensive. Full OPRA bandwidth averages around 40 Gbps but can climb as high as 70 Gbps, creating substantial infrastructure, networking and computing challenges. Cboe Options Lite dramatically reduces this burden with an average bandwidth of 500 Mbps and a peak bandwidth of 5 Gbps.

That’s nearly a 90% reduction in bandwidth and many firms may see up to 93% savings in infrastructure and connectivity costs.

    Real-Time Delivery Built for Performance

Cboe Options Lite streams real-time updated data via Cboe Global Cloud in AWS, using Apache Kafka and Avro serialization for efficient, scalable distribution. This cloud-native delivery enables firms to consume U.S. options data with modern infrastructure, eliminating the need for costly hardware, multicast networking or specialized data center presence.

    Trade and Quote Data

Every trade is delivered in real time without conflation, including:

    • Execution price
    • Volume
    • Exchange
    • Trade conditions
    • Eligibility flags for open, high, low and last (OHLL) calculations

You still receive every trade update, just without the excess overhead of the full OPRA feed.

    Quotes include:

    • Aggregated size across all exchanges
    • Low-latency conflation for efficient processing
    • Trade event–driven quote updates

This provides a complete view of market liquidity while minimizing message volume.

NBBO, Last Sale and All Essential Market Indicators

    Cboe Options Lite includes:

    • National Best Bid and Offer (NBBO)
    • Real-time last sale prices and volumes
    • Trade conditions and qualifiers

This ensures firms receive the most important real-time signals for execution logic, portfolio analytics, customer displays and market intelligence.

Order Book State via 15-Minute Summary Messages

To simplify system recovery and reduce the need for continuous full-depth updates, Cboe Options Lite publishes 15-minute summary snapshots including:

    • Order book state
    • Historical summary messages
    • Open, high, low, last
    • Total volume

    Comprehensive Reference Data Included

The feed provides full reference data for all U.S. options series, including:

    • OSI symbol, option root
    • Expiration date & strike price
    • Call/put indicator
    • Exercise style
    • Contract multiplier & deliverable details
    • Currency and open interest
    • Underlying asset information

    Flexible Connectivity and Simple Integration

Integration is designed to be fast and straightforward. Available connectivity options include:

    • AWS PrivateLink
    • Internet Gateway
    • Managed VPN

With flexible APIs and streaming protocols, many firms can go live quickly and without rewriting major components of their tech stack.

Topic-Based Symbol Organization for Cost Control

Cboe Options Lite organizes symbols into topics, allowing you to subscribe only to the product groups you need. This structure reduces network and CPU load, supports selective, use-case-driven consumption and lowers both infrastructure and cloud computing costs

    Vendor Distribution and OPRA Compliance

For clients receiving Cboe Options Lite via a vendor, OPRA approval is handled through that vendor. For those connecting directly to Cboe Options Lite, Cboe handles OPRA reporting on your behalf, reducing administrative tasks and simplifying compliance.

Why Switch to Cboe Options Lite

Cboe Options Lite reduces the complexity, volume and cost traditionally associated with OPRA data, all while preserving the real-time, trade-by-trade insight firms need.

    Key advantages include:

    • Up to 93% in potential infrastructure savings
    • 90% reduction in bandwidth
    • Real-time trades, NBBO, and last sale info included
    • Modern cloud-native delivery
    • Simple integration and flexible connectivity options

In short: Cboe Options Lite provides everything essential to power trading, analytics and customer experiences — at a fraction of the cost and bandwidth.
