    ZDNET’s key takeaways

    • The Mova Mobius 60 is a robot vacuum and mop available for $1,169.
    • This robot features three sets of mop pads so it can automatically choose the right one to clean tough stains and different floor types.
    • The robot is fantastic at obstacle avoidance and cleaning, but you have to make sure the dock’s door is closed tightly to operate it.

Having hard floors and pets means I have to stay on top of sweeping and mopping to keep my home clean. I prefer hard floors over carpet because it’s easier to keep my dust allergies at bay, but having a robot vacuum and mop combination doesn’t always make my floors as clean as if I’d mopped them myself.

Also: I tested Roborock’s first self-cleaning roller mop vacuum, and it’s almost too good for the price

Our floors see too much: from muddy paw prints in spring to tiny salty footprints in winter. Most robot mops go over these messes and spread them around instead of actually cleaning them up. The Mova Mobius 60 is specifically designed to flip the script.

Best robot vacuum deals of the week

Deals are selected by the CNET Group commerce team, and may be unrelated to this article.

I first saw this robot at CES in January 2025 and was captivated by the dock mechanism that moves three pairs of mop pads. The Mobius 60 autonomously swaps its mop pads for the appropriate ones whenever it detects a stain, spill, or floor type.

Also: I let this $360 robot vacuum run on autopilot for 10 days while I was away – here’s how it went

For example, the robot goes out to vacuum and mop with the yellow plush mops for hardwood floors. These mop pads are the softest pair and protect delicate surfaces.

The Mobius 60 can return to the dock and swap its mop pads for ThermoHold mops that retain heat longer from the hot water the dock uses to wash them, and then break down grease, which is perfect for kitchens. For other needs, the HyperClean mop can clean non-delicate surfaces like tile and vinyl planks.

Also: Dyson’s latest stick vacuum is impossibly thin and lightweight – but is it worth it at $599?

At the dock, the mop pads rotate inside the door, and you never have to touch them. The robot will dock, wash its mop pads, dry them, detach them, and then put them away.

Since the mop pads are magnetic, the robot can drop them, vacuum carpets, and then return to pick them up without you having to intervene. The mop pads do lift when the Mobius 60 goes over carpet, but you can have the device vacuum all your carpets before it starts vacuuming and mopping your hard floors.

That said, the mop isn’t the only outstanding feature of the Mova Mobius 60.

This robot vacuum has 30,000Pa of suction power, making it the market leader right now. The device can clean debris on the carpet that even my upright vacuum couldn’t pick up, especially stuck-on hair and dirt pushed down from the entry rug where my dog wipes his paws.

The Mobius 60’s two roller brushes spin in opposite directions, so the device can pick up dirt, debris, and crumbs, and immediately suck this mess into the dustbin without getting hair tangled in the brushes. The robot then returns to the base station and automatically empties its dustbin into the dust bag at the dock.

Even more impressive: whenever the Mobius 60 detects carpet, a pressure-retention baffle automatically descends to create a somewhat sealed space, lifting dust and hair that has been deeply embedded in the fibers.

    ZDNET’s buying advice

The Mova Mobius 60 is likely one of the best robot vacuum-and-mop combinations we’ll see all year. The device is designed for homes with either combination floors or mostly hard floors, and that’s the buyer I’d recommend getting it.

If you have mostly carpets, you can probably skip this vacuum in favor of another robot that doesn’t place so much emphasis on mopping.

Also: This $200 robot vacuum proves budget cleaners are finally worth your money

As a robot mop, the Mobius 60 offers some of the best cleaning I’ve seen, thanks to its ability to intelligently tailor its cleaning to the mess and floor type, and the amount of downward pressure it applies to remove spots.
