Cretan Investment Group (CIG), the investment division of MK Hotel Collection, has finalised the acquisition of the property housing the Hilton Garden Inn Athens Syggrou Avenue in Greece.

The move aligns with CIG’s ongoing strategy to invest in established hospitality assets located in significant urban areas, reinforcing its commitment to the Greek market, particularly Athens.

The newly acquired property is located on Syngrou Avenue, a key business and development corridor in Athens.

The area consistently demonstrates high demand and holds strategic value for the city’s hospitality industry.

CIG’s acquisition forms part of a broader investment plan aimed at enhancing both the scale and quality of its portfolio.

CIG executed the transaction as a sale and leaseback agreement. The arrangement will allow the Hilton Garden Inn Athens Syggrou Avenue to continue operating without changes to its management or operations. This approach ensures operational continuity while supporting the asset’s long-term investment value.

CIG actively acquires, develops, and manages hospitality properties in selected locations, focusing on assets that offer stable returns and long-term resilience. As part of the MK Hotel Collection, it manages a diverse portfolio with a primary focus on Crete but also includes both resort and urban projects.

Among the group’s main properties are Unique Blue Resort & Villas in Amnissos, which comprises five buildings and 120 rooms; Pnoé Breathing Life with 60 rooms and Cicada Suites offering six suites in Karteros; and Elios Hill in Hersonissos, featuring 275 rooms.

Expansion into branded residences includes Rua Augusta in central Heraklion and the Agia Pelagia villa complex. The Cicada Seaside Experience restaurant on Karteros Beach complements these holdings.

CIG CEO Marita Karatzi said: “This acquisition reflects Cretan Investment Group’s strategy to invest in hospitality properties with strong fundamental characteristics, long-term return potential, and resilience over time. We remain committed to creating value through targeted investments and a clear management strategy.”

“CIG completes acquisition of Hilton Garden Inn Athens property” was originally created and published by Hotel Management Network, a GlobalData owned brand.
